ARTHUR NASH HUTCHINSON JR. Obituary

ARTHUR NASH HUTCHINSON, JR., 89, passed away peaceably at the Richard Rosenthal hospice on October 27, 2009. Born in Trenton, NJ to Frances Haynes Harris Hutchinson and Arthur Nash Hutchinson on April 28, 1920, Mr. Hutchinson attended schools in East Orange, NJ and graduated from NYU in 1942 with a bachelor's degree. He served in the Army Signal Intelligence Corps from 1942 to 1945 based in the European Theater of Operation obtaining the rank of Sergeant. Upon his discharge, he joined American Cyanamid at Pearle River, NY and then New Orleans, LA, coming to Stamford in 1958 as director of Personnel for the Fairfield County Trust Company. He then was employed in the same capacity by White Tower Corporation. In 1975 he founded Art Hutchinson Associates. Always active in the community in which he resided, he was Assistant Scout Master in New Jersey and Louisiana, past Commander of the Stamford Power Squadron, formerly a member of the Alfred Dater Scout Council, the Sons of the American Revolution, and Elder in the First Presbyterian Church of Stamford. He served as Secretary of Union Lodge No. 5 A.F. & A.M. in Stamford for 23 years. A decedent of Edward Winslow of Mayflower Fame, he enjoyed history and the New York Yankees and cruising Long Island Sound in his boat "The Lady Clipper." In June of 1955, he married Joan Ann Voigt who survives him. There will be no viewing hours, but a Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Contributions may be made to Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, and the First Presbyterian Church.
