September-October 2007
Dear Brethren and Friends, Im looking forward to going back to full brilliance this fall. We have a number of fun, interesting, and challenging events planned. (See "Schedule of Events" for dates and times). We'll start off at our first communication with a business meeting. One of the items to be discussed will be dues for next year. The Grand Lodge Assessment and our other costs continue to rise. Treasurer Medi Abadi has been working on a plan to increase dues incrementally over the next few years so we can continue to do what we do as times change. This fall, well also explore some treasures of literature by fellow Mason with a Robert Burns night (complete with haggis prepared by Joe McBride) and a showing of the classic adventure film The Man Who Would Be King, based on the work of Rudyard Kipling. These events are semi-public, so please bring your family and friends. I hope to continue our recent tradition of putting on a Child Identification Program (CT CHIP) event at the Stamford Museum and Nature Center. Well need to raise some money to support this, so Ive also scheduled a tag sale. Please have a look around your home to see what you could donate that will help us keep kids safe. Best wishes for the rest of the year!
Fraternally,
